For those interested to learn the art of the pottery wheel from the beginning, this is a lovely place to start! In these one-on-one sessions, Shannon will guide you gently through the process of preparing and kneading clay, throwing it on the wheel and watching the magic unfold as you learn the art of centering, balance and letting go.
Positioned with a view overlooking the forest, the pottery wheel is at the Nurture Creative Nature Studio in the Diamond Valley, Sunshine Coast (address given with booking). At present, there is only one wheel at the studio. However, if you're happy to take turns with someone, then by all means, bring them along! (-;
**Materials included are clay and tools for the session. This fee does not include the cost of getting finished clay artworks fired or glazed, as the facilities for these are external. Shannon will recommend options and can organise the firing of finished pieces if you wish. Glazing clay works can be done at other recommended pottery spaces with the required facilities. Feel free to ask Shan if you need any more information.

Play with Clay
Intimate group art classes for up to five adults. Children welcome.
These relaxed art sessions are an opportunity for you to slow down, tune in with the earth and explore the third dimension! Held in an outdoor, open-air environment, there is space for everyone to move around whilst enjoying the tranquility of natural sounds and garden views.
We will explore new artistic mediums over the months. In the upcoming classes, we will be working on sculpting clay, exploring various hand-building techniques.
Please sunscreen and insect repellent. Wear clothes that you don't mind getting clay on and are suitable for outdoor weather.
*$50 per session is only possible when two or more people are joining.
If there are no other people booked in for the session, Shannon will get in touch beforehand with the option of coming for $40 per hour as a private session.
